NFL Players Raise Money for Charities

Summary: The #MyCauseMyCleats campaign completed a successful third year. Players raised awareness and raised money for their favorite shoe artists and charities. We wanted to honor the National Football League players and the charities that they supported.
#MyCauseMyCleats Started in 2016
National Football League players are required to wear uniform most of the year. Customized cleats need to be approved by game officials before players take to the field.
However, since 2016, in weeks 13 to 15 of playoffs, players are encouraged to support their local charities via custom designed cleats. In 2018 more than 700 players participated in #MyCauseMyCleats

Custom Cleats for Charity
NFL players show their love for the game by raising awareness for their favorite charities through custom cleats. Charities include: American Cancer Society, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, the Hospital for Sick Children, American Heart Association, Boys and Girls Club, and the Alzheimer's Association.
"The philanthropic passions of NFL players come to life in incredible ways all year long," NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement. "We are proud to expand our efforts to highlight the extraordinary impact of NFL players and teams in communities across the country."

The cleats are worn on game day between weeks 13 to 15 in the NFL, and auctioned off to the highest bidder on NFL's website.
According to the NFL, "all proceeds benefit charities identified by the specific player associated with the cleats, the NFL does not profit from the auction of these cleats."
